Music always finds you at the right time.
Not just songs you like — songs that mean something. Songs that match where your head’s at, what you’ve been through, what you’re still trying to process.
This isn’t just a playlist.
It’s a timeline.
No.1 – Bottoms Up
This one isn’t about drinking.
It’s about wanting your brain to just stop for five minutes.
When life feels loud, when you’re overthinking everything, carrying everything, feeling everything… sometimes you just want a break from your own head.
Not advice. Not solutions.
Just quiet.
That’s what this one is for me.
Escape, even if it’s only for a few minutes.
No.2 – Who’s Laughing Now
This is the shift.
The moment you stop doubting yourself.
When you realise people were comfortable seeing you struggle. Comfortable underestimating you. Thinking you wouldn’t get back up.
But you did.
And it’s not loud, it’s not showy it’s just that quiet confidence of knowing exactly who you are now.
No more explaining.
No more shrinking.
Just… solid.
No.3 – Face Down
This one’s heavy.
It’s about the things people don’t see.
Or don’t want to see.
The stuff you normalise while you’re in it. The excuses you make. The way you convince yourself it’s not that bad… until one day you realise it is.
That moment of clarity hits hard.
This song is that wake-up call.
Seeing things properly and knowing you won’t accept it again.
No.4 – Rolling in the Deep
This one is pure fire.
Not sadness — anger.
Not begging — done.
It’s that realisation that you gave everything, you were real, you showed up properly… and they still messed it up.
And the worst part?
Knowing what it could’ve been.
But this isn’t about going back.
It’s about closing the door properly.
No.5 – Good Girls Go Bad
This is where things change.
Where being the “good girl” stops working.
Always understanding. Always forgiving. Always giving chances.
Until you realise… that’s exactly why people take the piss.
This isn’t about becoming a bad person.
It’s about boundaries.
Saying no.
Not over-explaining.
Not fixing things you didn’t break.
Still a good heart just not so easy to walk over anymore.
No.6 – Circus
This one sums life up sometimes.
Noise. Drama. Opinions. People watching.
Everything happening at once.
It can feel like you’re expected to hold it together while everything around you is chaos.
But this song flips it.
Like fine if it’s a circus, I’ll handle it.
Not because it’s easy…
but because you’ve had to learn how.
No.7 – Scars
This one’s quieter.
But it hits just as hard.
It’s about everything you’ve been through the stuff that stays with you. The things that changed you.
For a long time, I think I saw that as damage.
But it’s not.
It’s proof you made it through.
Not untouched.
Not perfect.
But stronger.
The bigger picture
If I’m honest, this list says everything without me having to spell it out.
Escape.
Being underestimated.
Waking up.
Anger.
Boundaries.
Chaos.
Healing.
It’s all there.
Not separate all part of the same story.
A story of going through things, learning the hard way, and slowly becoming someone who doesn’t tolerate what they used to.
Still figuring things out.
Still healing.
Still standing.
And that’s enough.
